Once you've found the right dog or cat, these are the things you need to make your adoption successful:
DOGS: a dog lot or enclosure to provide safety, a dog house, food and water bowls, food, toys, bedding, and a leash.
CATS: food and water bowls, food, toys, a litter box, litter and scoop, and a "cat bed". If your new kitty will live outside, be sure to provide a safe, warm place for him/her at night.
Come to the shelter, pay the adoption fee, and fill out the paperwork. Schedule an appointment to have your new pet spayed / neutered. And enjoy your new best friend!
